Can I use silicone to seal SunGlaze?

Silicone sealers and adhesives can be used if they are the neutral cure type, also check with the manufacturer if they are compatible with polycarbonate plastics.

How important is it to follow the PSP SunGlaze general recommendations on product usage?

Very important. Recommendations for the storage, installation and general treatment of SunGlaze sheets are drafted to ensure that the product’s quality and serviceability is met to full extent, and following these recommendations ensures that product warranty isn't void.

How do I cut SunGlaze sheets?

SunGlaze sheets may be cut with either a circular saw or jig saw using a fine blade, or a table saw. For further information please refer to the SunGlaze installation manual.

What should I use to clean my panels?

Warm water with a mild household detergent should be sufficient to clean SunGlaze sheets. Wipe off any remained dirt with a soft cloth and wash again. Low pressure water blasting is also suitable only when the nozzle is kept at least 500mm from the sheet. NEVER use a solvent based cleaner (ammonia, etc.). NEVER wipe the sheets when dry. AVOID using sponges or brushes that can scratch the sheets surface.

Is it OK to walk over roofing sheets while in storage, during or after installation?

How many fastening options are there? And what is best for my installation.

Do SunGlaze sheets keep the "heat" out?

SunGlaze™ also offers SolarSmart technology – increasing the filtration of light & heat from the sun, to create the ultimate designer roof.

How long do SunGlaze Sheets last?

We offer a 25-year warranty against loss of light transmission and 15-year warranty on hail and system.

9.

Is it OK to fix screws by a power drill or screwdriver?

Yes. Please refer to the SunGlaze Installation Guide. Please note: SunGlaze sheets shouldn’t be fixed directly through the sheet.

What is the weight of typical SunGlaze panels?

Weight: 5.05 Kg/m², (2.94 Kg/m)

11.

How should I store packed SunGlaze sheets?

Store sheets in a protected, shaded, ventilated site, with no direct exposure to sunlight and winds. For outdoor temporary storage, cover with an opaque protective tarp, avoiding heat-absorbing materials.

12.

Can these sheets catch fire? SunGlaze has a fire rating Group 1S.

13.

Do the sheets expand in heat?

Yes. Polycarbonate sheets expand 1mm/metre with heat, and contract with cold.

14.

Do SunGlaze Polycarbonate roofing sheets really block UV radiation?

Unique to SunGlaze is the inclusion of dual surface UV2 protection making SunGlaze ideal for installations over pool and spa area – providing maximum protection for your family and friends while using your outdoor area.

If polycarbonate sheets block UV radiation, why is there a ‘UV side’ to face outwards?

Our sheets have a twin surface UV protection, therefor both sides offer the UV blocking benefits

16.

Should I paint the topside of structural rafters and purlins with any paint?

Personal choice.
The SunGlaze Base will cover the rafter. If using purlins, we suggest that the topside of the purlin is painted a light colour to avoid heat build-up. Please note the SunGlaze Base is 65 mm wide.
