Suntuf Twinwall FAQ's

1.

Can I replace my old Twinwall with SunTuf Twinwall?

Older structures may have 6mm thick Twinwall installed, if the original glazing system is being retained it will pay to check the fitment suitability of our 8mm thick sheet.

2.

What is Anti Dust tape and when should I use it?

Anti dust tape prevents dust and insects entering the open cells of the Twinwall. Being a twin pack the solid roll is intended to cover the top (high) end of the sheets. The cloth pocketed roll is intended to cover the bottom (low) end of the sheets allowing the cells to breath and any moisture to evacuate. Do not permanently seal both open ends of the Twinwall this will cause the trapped air to go stale and turn green.

Can I use silicone to seal Twinwall?

Silicone sealers and adhesives can be used if they are neutral cure, also check with the manufacturer if they are compatible with polycarbonate plastics.

Twinwall sheets may be cut with either a circular saw (using a very fine blade, e.g. Bosch MULTIMATERIAL circular saw blade.) or a fine bladed jig saw. For best results it is often better to cut a few sheets at a time to reduce vibration. Sheets may also be cut by hand by carefully with a utility knife. For further information please refer to the Twinwall installation manual.

8.

What should I use to clean my panels?

A mixture of warm water with a small amount of mild household detergent combined with a soft cloth should be sufficient to clean Twinwall sheets. Water blasting is also suitable only when the nozzle is kept at least 500mm from the sheet. NEVER use a solvent based cleaner (ammonia, etc.). NEVER clean wipe the sheets when dry. AVOID using sponges or brushes that can scratch the sheets surface. To remove and prevent Lichen, use 30 Seconds Roof and Awning cleaner as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
